The 12 Paintings of Christmas › The Long Walk

The Long Walk

Sale Price: $300.00 Original Price: $600.00

12×16, oil on multimedia board, unframed with option to add frame

I love the Steve Earle song and when in Galway this past summer was mesmerized by seeing “The Long Walk” in person. Listen to the song, look at the painting, and you might also fall in love.

"The Long Walk" in Ireland refers to a 350-yard picturesque row of colorful buildings in Galway city, located near the Spanish Arch and Latin Quarter.

"Galway Girl" is a song written by American singer-songwriter Steve Earle[1] and recorded with Irish musician Sharon Shannon; the title was originally "The Galway Girl". It was featured on Earle's 2000 album Transcendental Blues.[2] "The Galway Girl" tells the semi-autobiographical story of the songwriter's reaction to a beautiful black-haired blue-eyed girl he meets in Galway, Ireland.[1] Local references include Salthilland The Long Walk.
